Melvin K. Raber

Melvin K. Raber, 68, of Middlefield, passed away peacefully Monday evening, February 20th, 2017 at UH-Geauga Medical Center, after a courageous battle with cancer, while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Atlantic, PA on December 8th, 1948 to the late Benjamin A. and Katie Ann (Miller) Raber. Melvin later married Emma Lucille Hostetler on January 3rd, 1973. He recently retired from HEXPOL in Burton and enjoyed traveling across the U.S., campfires, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

He will be greatly missed by: his loving wife of 44 years, Emma; children, Daniel Ray (Amanda) Raber, Barbara Ann Raber, Cindy (Raymond) Byler, Enick (Karen) Raber; 13 grandchildren; 3 brothers; 3 sisters; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Melvin is preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers, and 3 sisters.

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 9:30 A.M., THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 23RD, 2017, 16128 MADISON RD., MIDDLEFIELD, OH with Bishop Jacob W. Gingerich officiating. Pallbearers will be Noah Troyer, Adam Miller, Ervin Kauffman, and Timothy Weaver. Visitation will be anytime until the time of the service at his home, 16271 Madison Rd., Middlefield. Melvin's final resting place will be in Yoder Cemetery, Parkman, OH.
