WIlliam F Helt, Sr

Mr. William Frank "Bill" Helt, age 84, passed away on August 18, 2025, in Parkman, Ohio. Born on February 19, 1941, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Bill lived a full and devoted life marked by service, family, and enduring passions.

Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, a commitment that reflected his strong sense of duty and integrity. After his military service, he continued to build a life centered around the values he held dear—loyalty, hard work, and love for his family.

He was a devoted husband to Janice Helt for 57 years and a loving father to Kimberly Helt Cimney (Kelly), Traci Helt Hamburg (Adam) , and William Helt Jr.  Known affectionately as “PopPop,” Bill cherished his role as grandfather to Rhianna Hamburg, Kaitlyn Cimney, Hayley Helt, and Jolie Helt. His unwavering support, love, and presence were constants in their lives.

Bill found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting—activities that brought him peace and connection with nature. A lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, he rarely missed a game and took great pride in cheering on his hometown team.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ethel Helt; his brother Jack Helt; and sisters Jean Hoffman and Ruth Hoffman.

Those who knew Bill will remember him as someone who would do anything for his family, someone who had a great sense of humor, and someone who had a strong work ethic. His steadfast presence and generous spirit left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Bill will be deeply missed and always remembered by his family.

A funeral service led by family will be held at 7pm on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the Best Funeral Home in Middlefield with visitation from 3-7pm at the funeral home. Private family burial will take place.
