Urie M. Byler, 82, of Nelson Twp, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, May 18th, 2021 at his home and surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Atlantic, PA on October 6th, 1938 to the late Milo E. and Mattie J. (Byler) Byler. Urie later married Barbara Ann Miller on October 1st, 1959. He was a member of the Old Old Order Amish Church and also faithfully served as an Ordained Minister of the Nelson Parkman West District since April 29th, 1972.
He will be missed by: his wife of 61 years, Barbara; children, Aden (Esther) Byler, Kathryn (Allen Ray) Miller, Urie (Susan) Byler Jr., Andy (Erma) Byler, Nathaniel (Ruth) Byler, Enoch (Katie) Byler, John Henry (Edna Mae) Byler, Susan (Chester) Weaver, Melvin (Susan) Byler, Linda (Robert) Byler, Barbara Ann (Larry Jr.) Yoder; 92 grandchildren; 201 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 2 sisters; 1 step-brother; 1 step-sister; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Urie is preceded in death by: his parents, 2 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers; and 1 sister.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 9:30 A.M., THURSDAY, MAY 20TH, 2021 AT 8880 STATE ROUTE 305, NELSON TWP, OHIO with Bishop John L. Coblentz officiating. Pallbearers will be James Bender, Larry Miller, Jake Detweiler, and Jonas Byler Jr. Visitation will be anytime until the time of service. Urie’s final resting place will be in Detweiler Cemetery, Nelson Twp, Ohio.
