Tracie Kim Simon (nee Pearce), age 63 of Middlefield, passed away on February 16 surrounded by her family after a short illness. Tracie was born in Ravenna on March 15, 1957 to Jim and Doris Pearce. She grew up in Shalersville Township, graduating from Crestwood High School in 1975 and Bowling Green State University in 1979. She was a member of Portage Faith United Methodist Church.
Tracie expressed her passion for caring for children with special needs by working as an aide at the Hattie Larlham Foundation and for the Geauga County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
Tracie is survived by her mother, father, loving companion Sidney Anderson, and siblings Kevin (Cindy), Tim (Tammy), Rhonda (Ken Grudowski), Lisa Cutlip, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends whom she truly loved. She thoroughly enjoyed retirement and traveling with Sid. Tracie loved sports, especially the Browns and the Indians. She participated frequently in the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon, and loved walking.
Tracie's family wishes to thank all of Tracie's extended family and friends for their love, support, and prayers. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Hattie Larlham Foundation, Special Olympics, or your local park system.
Per Tracie's request, cremation has taken place. A casual outdoor celebration of life will be held later this summer.
