Susie B. (Byler) Troyer

Susie B. Troyer (nee Byler), 91, of Middlefield Twp, OH, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, October 30th, 2025 at UH-Geauga Medical Center while surrounded by her family. She was born in Mespo, OH on November 13th, 1933 to the late Jake and Amanda (Miller) Byler. Susie is once again reunited with her loving husband, Daniel N. Troyer, who died August 8th, 2018.

Susie moved to Middlefield when she married Daniel, and the two provided a loving home for their six girls. She was devoted to her family and her faith in the Lord, and even friends beyond her family called her “mom”. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting, scrapbooking, and painting, and she especially loved visits with her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Susie will be greatly missed by: daughters, Linda Shank, Barb (Rich) Weaver, Karen (Mel) Detweiler, Carol (Bill) Byler, Bonnie Troyer; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Clara (Walter) Troyer; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

She is preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Daniel; daughter, Cathy Mullett; and 10 siblings, Noah, Emma, Elizabeth, Ida, Mahlon, Martha, Daniel, Jake, Allen, and Samuel.

Family and friends will be received from 4-7 PM., Sunday, November 2nd, 2025 at New Mercies Community Church, 12767 Butternut Rd., Burton, OH. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, November 3rd at the church with Pastor Billy Byler officiating. Susie’s final resting place will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Burton Twp, Ohio.
