Susan L. (Sprague) Adkins

Susan L. Adkins (nee  Sprague), 78, of Burton, OH, passed away Tuesday morning, April 8th, 2025 at her home. She was born in Bedford, OH on February 4th, 1947 to the late Harold and Catherine “Betty” (Yunkes) Sprague. Susan later married her best friend and love of her life, Ray Adkins on August 10th, 1968.

Susan was a passionate and multifaceted woman who embraced life to the fullest, finding joy in some of the smallest things. She enjoyed time in the outdoors whether she was gardening, smelling flowers or simply enjoying the sun. She loved to photograph many of her favorite things such as flowers or waterfalls. She showed these photos to many of her family to show them the world through her perspective. In her youth she was always outdoors hiking or horseback riding. She has always shown unmeasurable love to animals whether they're her pets or even the birds she enjoys watching on a sunny day. As time went on and her family grew, so did her heart. She shared many of her favorite things with her children and grandchildren, teaching them all the things she's learned along the way. She loved cooking for her family and friends and sharing her food with the world. Over the years she spent most of her time surrounded by her family and friends enjoying they're company. The memory of Susan will forever live on in the hearts of her loved ones.

Susan will be missed by: her loving husband of 56 years, Ray; son, David Adkins; daughter, Michelle Montgomery; grandchildren, Garrett Adkins, Grace Adkins, Asia (Matt Moser) Montgomery, Russell Eichelburger, Cailyn Montgomery; brothers, Harold Sprague Jr. and Richard Sprague; sister, Lucy Felger; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her parents and sister, Carol Sprague.

Per Susan’s wishes, a private gathering of friends and family will be held at a later date.
