Stefanie L. Humr Obituary

Stefanie Humr (nee Oldman), 79 years old, of Burton, Ohio passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026, surrounded by her two daughters Stacy (Ben) Altose and Sara (Kevin) Koerlin.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest accomplishment was never something that could be written on a résumé or measured by a title. It was the family she loved and the life she devoted herself to building for them.

When her husband and the love of her life, Robert Humr, passed away, Stefanie was left to raise her two young daughters, Stacy and Sara. She did it on her own, without giving up, without asking for anything in return, and without ever letting her girls feel that they were missing anything. She became not only their mother, but their protector, their provider, their teacher, and eventually their best friend.

Stefanie worked for 20 years at Heinen’s, where she never missed a day of work. She was hardworking, dependable, and proud of what she did. But the work she was most proud of was taking care of her family.

There was very little she couldn’t do. She could sew just about anything, and whenever her daughters needed a pair of pants fixed or something made just right, they knew exactly who to call. She had a way of making things perfect—not because she had to, but because that was simply who she was.

Her greatest joy, however, was being a grandmother. She was an amazing grandmother to Karl, Erynn and Oliver. She loved them fiercely and made sure they always knew they were special. She gave them the same unconditional love, protection, and devotion that she had given her own children.

To know Stefanie was to know someone who would give you everything she had, even when she didn't have much to give. She taught her daughters what strength looked like. She showed them what it meant to love someone without conditions and to keep going even when life was incredibly difficult.
Stefanie was our mom. She was our best friend. She was the person we could always count on.
Her absence will leave a space that can never truly be filled, but her love will continue through her daughters, her grandchildren, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
She will be deeply missed, endlessly loved, and never forgotten.

Until we meet again, Mom. We love you
