Shirley A. (Ely) Johnson

Shirley Ann Johnson (nee Ely), 85, of Orwell, OH, passed away peacefully Monday morning, April 28th, 2025 at UH-Geauga Medical Center in Claridon, OH. She was born in Akron, OH on January 11th, 1940 and later married her best friend and love of her life, Ron Johnson on April 29, 1978.    

Shirley enjoyed knitting, crocheting, doing puzzles and playing cards and games with her loved ones and friends. She was the matriarch of a very large family whom she loved with all of her heart.

Shirley will be missed by so many. Including her loving husband of 47 years, Ron Johnson, their children, Kathy (Desi) McCurdy, Kenny (Sara) Callaway, Michael Callaway (Caitlin Kawalec), Tammy Sellers, Ronnie (Melissa) Johnson, Missy (John) Dinishak, daughters-in-law Derenda Callaway and Tracy Callaway, Sister-in-law Candy Meadows, her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her brothers John (Dave) Finney, and Richard (Dick) Finney. As well as many cousins, and countless friends.

Shirley is preceded in death by her sons, Bert Callaway and Robert Callaway, and her daughters, Victoria Callaway and Colleen Callaway (Chitwood), Her mother Hazel and John Finney, Her mother and father-in-law Warren and Martha Johnson,

A Celebration of Life will be held at a place and time to be determined.
