Shirley A. (Osburn) Helmuth

Shirley Ann Helmuth (nee Osburn), 75, of North Bloomfield, OH, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, September 8th, 2024.   She was born in Parkman, OH on February 9th, 1949 to the late Francis E. and Vina Mae (Patchin) Osburn. Shirley later married the love of her life and best friend, Ervin Helmuth on September 26th, 1964.

She enjoyed sewing and making quilts, baking, and gardening. Shirley also liked playing  card games, especially Texas Hold Em.  In her later days she enjoyed watching the birds and chipmunks.  She liked going to church, she loved the Gospel Hymns. She made friends wherever she went and loved being with friends, she especially adored children.  No one was a stranger and she welcomed everyone into her home. She was always jumping in to help whenever there was a need.  Her greatest love though, was spending her time with family, especially her grandchildren. 

Shirley will be greatly missed by: her loving husband of 60 years, Ervin; children, Ed Helmuth, Kim Freiberg, Bill Helmuth, Dan (Kathy) Helmuth, Christina (Jason) Lynch; grandchildren, Jessica (Brandon) Scott, Andrea Molinatto, Blaine (Nicole) Helmuth, Maressa (Zach) White, Jeremy (Lydia) Continenza, William (Corinne) Helmuth, Jennifer (Cory) Nines, Misty (Jarrod) Sponseller, Cody (Maggie) Helmuth, Tristian Lynch, Gavin Lynch, Alexa Lynch; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers; 2 sisters; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

She is preceded in death by: her parents; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Helmuth; granddaughter, Jacqueline Shoemaker; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.  

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 12:30 P.M., THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 12TH, 2024 AT BRISTOLVILLE FREEWILL BAPTIST CHURCH, 2087 S.R. 88, BRISTOLVILLE, OH 44450 with Rev. George Witt officiating. Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Shirley’s final resting place will be in Brownwood Cemetery, North Bloomfield, OH.
