Scott Alan Hewitt, 70, of Chardon, OH, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 3rd, 2026 at Mapleview Country Villa, in Chardon. He was born in Ashtabula, OH on August 17th, 1955 to the late Gordon S. and Margaret E. (Wilber) Hewitt. Scott was named after two of his father’s service buddies who died in World War II.
He was a retired carpenter after spending many years working at Rogers Displays in Mentor. Scott’s passion was restoring and building vintage motocross motorcycles. He was co-owner of Oden/Hewitt Racing Team and a 2-time national champion in the 50+ vintage motocross. Scott was also a member of the Fairport Rod and Reel Club and owner of Hammertime Charters, based out of Fairport, Ohio.
Scott enjoyed fishing, hunting, motocross racing, and all Westerns, especially “Gunsmoke”. He also looked forward to Friday nights of Chardon football.
Scott will be greatly missed by: son, Mitch (Gail) Hewitt; sister, Karen Hewitt; grandchildren, Caleb, Briella, Colton, and Jericho; his loving companion and girlfriend of the past 10 years, Susan Toncar; his support cat, Bubba; and 4 nieces, 2 nephews, and many friends.
A PRIVATE INTERMENT WILL BE HELD AT EAST TRUMBULL CEMETERY, TRUMBULL TWP, OHIO AT A LATER DATE .
