Sarah Marie (Miller) Kurtz

Sarah Marie Kurtz (nee Miller), 69 years old, of Orwell, Ohio passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, December 23rd, 2025 at home while surrounded by her family. She was born in Mesopotamia, Ohio on February 12th, 1956 to the late Andy D.J. and Lydiann (Troyer) Miller. Sarah later married the love of her life and best friend, Melvin J. Kurtz, on February 21st, 1980. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.  

She will be missed by: her loving husband of 45 years, Melvin; children, Susan (Neal) Weaver, Lydia Ann (Paul) Miller, Rachel (Joseph Jr.) Byler, Melvin (Sara Mae) Kurtz Jr.; 13 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; 3 brothers; 3 sisters; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Sarah is preceded in death by: her parents; 1 grandchild; 2 brothers; and 1sister.

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 9:00 AM, FRIDAY, DECEMBER 26TH, 2025 AT 9680 STATE ROUTE 45, ORWELL, OH with Bishop Allen Y. Byler officiating. Pallbearers will be Samuel Miller, David Miller, Aaron Miller, and Mervin Miller. Visitation will be anytime until the morning of the service. Sarah’s final resting place will be in Clover Hill Cemetery, North Bloomfield, Ohio.
