Sandra "Sandy" Lee (Bartos) Stanek

Sandra “Sandy” Lee Stanek (nee Bartos), 71, of Columbus (formerly of Windham, Middlefield, and Chardon), passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, July 27th, 2021 at her home while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Chardon, OH on October 29th, 1949 to the late William and Dorothy (Casteel) Bartos. Sandy married Robert “Bob” Stanek on September 16th, 1972.

Sandy was a 1968 graduate of Chardon High School. She later graduated from Choffin Career Center as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Sandy had a passion for helping others, especially working with Alzheimer’s patients and hospice services. Sandy was a devoted wife and always put family first. She loved crafting, celebrating holidays, watching TV, and spending quality time with her family. She volunteered with 4-H, Girl Scouts, the community, and the schools. Sandy enjoyed singing in the church choir and her husband’s bands.

Sandy will be greatly missed by: her loving husband of 48 years, Bob; son, Tim Stanek; daughters, Marianne (Jim) Patterson and Becky (Ryan Cudlip) Stanek; grandchildren, Nick Mora, Olivia Stanek, Xavier Patterson, Owen Patterson; brother Bill Bartos; mother-in-law, Anna R. Stanek; and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Edward Bartos.

Family and friends will be received from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 3rd, 2021 at Best Funeral Home, 15809 Madison Rd., Middlefield, OH 44062. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 11:00 A.M., WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 4TH, 2021 AT THE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor RJ Zupancich officiating. Sandy’s final resting place will be in Huntsburg Cemetery, Huntsburg, OH.
