Samuel J. Kempf, 86, of Mesopotamia, passed away Wednesday afternoon, November 11th, 2020 at his home. He was born on August 1st, 1934 to the late John Henry and Malinda (Swartzentruber) Kempf. Samuel in now reunited with his loving wife of 61 years, Nancy M. Kempf, who died June 4th, 2020. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church and Bishop of the Farmington East Church District.
He will be missed by: his children, Anna (Robert) Slabaugh, Sarah (Daniel) Fisher, Daniel (Amelia) Kempf, Ben (Anna) Kempf, Rudy (Lydia) Kempf, David (Nancy) Kempf, Allen (Martha) Kempf, Mary (Norman) Byler, Samuel (Barbara) Kempf Jr., Lena (Reuben) Byler, Aaron (Ellen) Kempf; 107 grandchildren; 123 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Samuel is preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Nancy; sons, Melvin Kempf and Monroe Kempf; 1 granddaughter; and 1 great-grandson.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 9:30 A.M., SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14TH, 2020 AT 8120 STATE ROUTE 534, MESOPOTAMIA, OH with Bishop John E. Shrock Jr. officiating. Pallbearers will be Homer Yoder, Bill Hostetler, Melvin, Troyer, and Aden Yoder. Visitation will be anytime until the time of service. Samuel’s final resting place will be in Clark Road Cemetery, West Farmington, OH.
