Ruth Elaine Ramirez-Bentley

Ruth Elaine Ramirez-Bentley, 61, of Cleveland, OH, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, September 5th, 2023 at the Cleveland Clinic while surrounded by her family. She was born in Dearborn, MI on November 17th, 1961 to Sammy and Sandra Kay (Shumate) Ramirez. 

The name Ruth is of Hebrew origin and means “companion” or “compassionate friend.”  Ruth certainly lived up to her name.  Family and friends were Ruth’s highest priority and a full-time job for her.  Ruth built a warm and welcoming environment wherever she was and was most content when she was surrounded by those she held dear.

Because of her love for family and friends, she was always quick to suggest a get-together.  Ruth loved hosting parties and was a master at bringing people together for fun and excellent food handmade by Ruth herself.  A party at Ruth’s was always a good time where you could be yourself without fear of judgment.

Ruth not only loved entertaining; she loved showing her love through giving gifts.  She would spend her last dollar on something if she thought someone she loved would enjoy it.  If she didn’t have a dollar to spend, she would make something for you.  She loved making little trinkets for people and she was almost childlike in her delight when you thanked her and told her how much you liked it.

Ruth was a big-hearted and loving person to many. The lives of those she leaves behind will feel her absence acutely.

Ruth will be greatly missed by: her loving husband of the past 2 years, Ray Bentley; parents, Sammy and Sandra Kay Ramirez; children, Pamela Marshall, Monica (Noah) Thomas, Michael Lindsey, Charles Moore, Donald (Caitlyn) Moore; grandchildren, Luke, Lauren, Miah, Braden, Jaylon, Payton, Noahy, Kameron, Nyier, Austin, Chase, Charlotte, Charles; siblings, Laura (Mike) Zielinski, Cristi (Erik) Zavarella, Samuel (Laura) Ramirez, Andre(Jaime) Ramirez; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

A MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 10:00 AM, OCTOBER 14, 2023 AT PARKSIDE CHURCH, 7100 PETTIBONE RD., CHAGRIN FALLS, OH 44023.

In lieu of flowers, financial contributions in memory of Ruth Elaine Ramirez-Bentley can be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of your choice.
