Rosellen "Pinky" (Phelps) Rummel

Rosellen “Pinky” May Rummel (nee Phelps), 78, of Middlefield, OH, passed away peacefully Monday morning, February 16th, 2026 at UH-Geauga Medical Center. She was born in Cleveland, OH on October 31st, 1947 to the late Harry and Viriginia (Simmonetti) Phelps.

Pinky is once again reunited with her loving husband, Terry D. Rummel, who died January 24th, 2008.  Pinky lived her life in joyful service to others, and nowhere was that more evident than in her work as an Activity Director at Town Hall, Grand Valley, and Blossom Hill Nursing Homes. She did far more than organize events — she filled rooms with laughter, music, and meaning. Pinky was deeply devoted to the residents and their families, always striving to bring entertainment, joy, and dignity into their daily lives. She believed every person deserved to feel valued and celebrated, and she made it her mission to enhance the quality of their lives in ways both big and small.

She was truly the life of the party. Pinky had a gift for turning ordinary moments into celebrations, and her energy was contagious. Whether through a perfectly planned event, a shared joke, or simply her vibrant presence, she brought people together and made them feel alive. It is only fitting that she requested not a tearful funeral, but a celebration — a gathering filled with stories, laughter, music, and memories that reflect the way she lived.

Her faith was the steady foundation of her life. Pinky attended church regularly, volunteered faithfully, and taught children from an early age to love God. She believed faith should be lived out daily through kindness, service, and love, and she led by that example.

Above all, Pinky cherished her family. She taught us that family is life’s greatest treasure and nurtured those bonds with intention and joy. She embraced every adventure with her children and grandchildren, creating memories that will last a lifetime. In her daily journal she once wrote that her “grandchildren were the boxes that topped her gifts off. They were her inspiration and the secret of why she still felt young.” They were the light of her life and the heartbeat of her happiest days. Pinky’s legacy is one of faith, celebration, compassion, and unwavering love. Though she will be deeply missed, she would want us to gather, to smile, to share stories, and to celebrate a life beautifully and fully lived.

Pinky will be greatly missed by: her children, Theresa (Daniel) Weber, Melissa (Roger) Stahl, Terry (Amanda) Rummel II; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many friends.

She is preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Terry; daughter, Rhonda Seminatore; and brother, Harry Phelps.   

Per Pinky’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held at Corners Catering Event Center, 11845 State Route 44, Mantua Township OH 44255 on February 28, 2026 from 2:00 to 6:00. Join the family for dancing and sharing fun memories.
