Roman Hostetler

Roman Hostetler, 80, of Middlefield, OH, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, August 8th, 2024 at home while surrounded by his family. He was born in Middlefield, OH on April 19th, 1944 to the late Neil and Mary (Weaver) Hostetler. Roman later married his best friend and love of his life, Mary Lou Hottenstein on May 20th, 1977.

He was a self-taught, self-employed auto mechanic for over 40 years. He was always willing to come help you no matter what time it was or if the Cleveland Indians were playing.

Roman had a true love in his life, Jesus Christ! Wherever he went he shared the love of God with any one he could! He was saved and made sure you knew about Jesus!

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing in church leagues. Roman also loved trains and steam engines.

Roman was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed by: his loving wife of 47 years, Mary Lou; daughters, Jennifer Leonard and Jill (Dave) Rozalski; grandchildren, Mikeahla (Nathan) Wojtowicz, Peighton (Aaron) Good, Josiah Leonard, Isabella Leonard, Tyler (Nick) Donavon, Taylor (Myles) Kamara, Riley Williams; great-grandchildren, Leonard Friend, Roman Friend, Elizabeth Good, Malachi Good, Ezra Donavon, Magnolia Donavon, Karter Kamara, Isabela Kamara; sisters, Edna (James) Farmwald, Linda (Roman) Hernojwicz, Carol (James) Byler; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  

He is preceded in death by: his parents; son-in-law, Dennis Leonard; infant brother, Mark Hostetler; and sisters, Fran Owens and Martha Loizer.
