Robert C. Shefchuk, 88, of Middlefield, OH passed away peacefully at his home early Wednesday morning, June 24th, 2020 while lovingly surrounded by his family. He was born in Cleveland, OH on August 16th, 1931 to the late Conrad and Mary (Revallo) Shefchuk. Robert is once again reunited with his loving wife, Eleanor (Williams) Shefchuk, and his son Gregory D. Shefchuk.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in Germany in the 1950’s and spoke often of his pride and emotion of seeing the statue of liberty upon returning to the United States.
Bob was an avid reader and had a lifetime love of learning. The most important things in his life were his family, books, classical music and walking in nature. He had a terrific sense of humor and was always fun to be around. He was a beautiful person filled with kindness and generosity and always made you feel like the most important person in the room.
Bob will be deeply missed by: his loving daughters, Terri (Michael) Hanshew, Kimberly (James) Porter; grandchildren; Audra (Cody) Skeen, Jennifer (Craig) George, David (Sierra) Shefchuk, Brian Shefchuk, Elizabeth Shefchuk, Patrick Shefchuk, great-grandchildren, Natalie George, Jocelyn George, Aubrie Shefchuk; sister, June Rimini; daughter-in-law, Kathy Shefchuk; nieces, Janice Shefchuk, Julie (Mac) Macaluso, Nancy Shefchuk, Mickey (Mike) LaRocca.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Conrad Sr. and Mary; wife, Eleanor Shefchuk; son, Greg Shefchuk, brother, Conrad Shefchuk Jr. and wife, Shirley; and niece, Marcy Rimini.
FAMILY AND FRIENDS WILL BE RECEIVED FROM 11:00 – 1:00 P.M., SUNDAY, JUNE 28TH, 2020 AT BEST FUNERAL HOME, 15809 MADISON RD., MIDDLEFIELD, OH 44062. A private burial service will be held and Robert will be laid to rest next to his loving wife, Eleanor in Middlefield Cemetery, Middlefield, OH.
