Robert “Bob” G. Balas, 87, of Burton Twp, OH, passed away peacefully Monday morning, May 18th, 2026, at the David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland, OH. He was born in Cleveland on June 14th, 1938, to the late Frank and Helen (Doctor) Balas. Bob is once again reunited with his loving wife, Norma Balas, who died January 2nd, 2022.
He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran. Bob was also a 54 years member of Village Lodge #274 F&AM in Burton, Ohio. He enjoyed tinkering with and repairing any type of motor, fans, heaters. He was also a member of the Geauga Magyar Cultural Society and was very proud of his Hungarian heritage
Bob will be missed by: his nephews, Ronald (Karen) Balas Jr. of Willlston, VT, Robert (Elaine) Balas of Stow, OH; great-nephews, Chris Balas, Matthew Balas, and Logan (Katherine) Balas; great-niece, Megan Balas; great-great-nephew, Clark Balas; great-great-nieces, Scarlett and Aurora Goodrich; and many friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Norma; brother, Ronald Balas Sr.; and nephews, George Balas and Leslie Balas.
A PRIVATE INTERMENT WILL BE HELD AT A LATER DATE.
