Richard Jay Brady, 61, of Austintown, OH, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, March 22nd, 2026, at home surrounded by his loving wife. He was born in Youngstown, OH on June 8th, 1964, to the late Marvin and Betty (Seltzer) Brady. Richard later married his best friend and love of his life, Donna D. Coffey, on July 31st, 1999.
He was very active member of Freemasonry. Richard cherished the fraternal bonds he made over the years with everyone he met. Richard was raised a Master Mason and was a Past Master of East Palestine Lodge #417. He was also a coronated 33rd degree Scottish Rite Mason after serving as Thrice Potent Master of Hiram Lodge of Perfection, Sovereign Prince of Youngstown Council Princes of Jerusalem, Most Wise Master of Youngstown Chapter of Rose Croix, and Commander-in-Chief of Mahoning Consistory S.P.R.S. in the Valley of Youngstown AASR.
Richard is a Past High Priest of both East Palestine Chapter #123 and Youngstown Chapter #93 Royal Arch Masons, a Past Illustrious Master of both Keramos Council #95 and Buechner Council #107 Royal and Select Masons, a Past Commander of St John’s Commandery #20 also serving at Warren Commandery #39, and a Meritorious Service Award recipient. He is a Knight of the York Cross of Honour in Ohio Priory #18 where his distinguished service to the craft led to him receive the Knight York Grand Cross of Honour in 2013.
He is a Knight Commander of the Temple, Past Deputy Division Commander and Past Division of the Northeastern Division, as well as a Past Corps Commander for the Grand Commandery of Ohio where he later served as a Grand Officer eventually being elected and serving as the Grand Commander of Knights Templar of Ohio for 2013-2014.
Richard also served as a Puissant Sovereign of Holyrood Conclave, Red Cross of Constantine, Sovereign Master of St. Lawrence Council #491 Allied Masonic Degrees, Preceptor and Registrar of Our Savior Tabernacle #33, Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests.
He was further a distinguished member of Shannon Council #28, Knight Masons of Ireland, Royal Order of Scotland, Ohio Chapel #14 and American Union Chapel # 16, Order of St. Thomas of Acon, Aut Mori Grotto, Grottos of North America, and Cleveland College #13, York Rite Sovereign College of North America, and Cleveland Kennel #1, Omnipotent and Effervescent Order of K9.
Richard will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 26 years, Donna; brothers, Thomas (Linda) Brady and Paul (Elaine) Brady; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Barger and Terry Annico; sister-in-law Joan Williams; and many, nephews, nieces, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Judith Barger and Mary Lou Annico.
