Rhonda Lyn Byler, a deeply loved and courageous wife, mother and grandmother, was born on May 7, 1960, and passed away on May 12, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. In her final moments, she was held, honored and reminded of just how deeply she was loved.
Rhonda is survived by her devoted and loving husband Bill, and her children, who were the center of her life: Gordon Mathies III (Kristen), Kristy Mathies (Joseph), Debbie Boylen (Christopher), and Cherie Culver (Ronald). She was a proud grandmother to 14 grandchildren, to whom she cherished deeply: Gordon IV, Isaiah, Paren, Carter, Ethan (Jacquelynne), Emma, Landon, Nicholas, Lillian, Luke, Annabelle, Benjamin, Avery and Ellie. She was also a loving great-grandmother to Rosalie, Stephanie and Theo. Rhonda is also survived by two loving sisters, Donna and Diane. She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Jeanette Prater, and great-granddaughter, Sadie, whose memory remained close to her heart.
Though her absence leaves a deep ache, Rhonda’s love, strength and spirit will forever remain in the lives she touched. Her legacy lives on in her family – in the stories, grace and love she passed down through generations.
Family and friends will be received from 4-8 PM, Monday, May 19th, 2025 at Best Funeral Home, 15809 Madison Rd., Middlefield, OH 44062. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM , Tuesday, May 20th, at the funeral home. Rhonda's final resting place will be in Park Cemetery, Garrettsville, OH
