Patricia “Pat” L. Prentice (nee Heath), 90, of Montville, OH, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, November 17th, 2024 at her home while surrounded by her family. She was born in Cleveland, OH on September 4th, 1934 to the late Guy V. and Gladys (Fetterhoff) Heath. Pat is once again reunited with her loving husband, Jack C. Prentice, who died October 28th, 2016.
In honor of our Lord, we recognize the life of Pat Prentice who was born in Cleveland OH, where she was raised during her childhood until her father moved the family to Tacoma WA as a pipe-fitter in the ship building industry for the war effort, thereafter returning to Ohio where she finished her education in Willoughby.
Pat developed a passion for flowers and arranging them whilst working at LeWaynes Florist in the 1950’s and again in the 1990’s.
In the mid-1950’s, Pat gave her life to the Lord and was baptized into the death, burial and resurrection of His son Jesus Christ.
In 1954, after an unusual proposal from Jack, they were married at Painesville First Christian Church, and joined with Jack in his service to the Lord.
Their ministry took them from Caledonia Ohio to Montana. Whilst raising her children and teaching Bible school, she was employed as a telephone operator for a time. Returning to Ohio, she drove Spec. Ed. children and worked as a teachers’ aide in kindergarten. Jack and Pat moved to California for ministry, then to PA and back to Roaming Shores, Ohio for the same.
Two years after Jack’s passing, Pat moved to Montville to live with her son David and wife Debbie. Here Pat enjoyed her sons and daughters as they were all instrumental in her activities of daily living, assisted frequently and whenever possible. There she remained until she moved to her heavenly home.
Pat lived her life continually striving for godliness in her service to the Lord, her husband and her children. She was intuitive, genuine and loving to all that knew her, and with kind words and meekness with whom she interacted.
Pat was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone who knew her. She will be greatly missed by: her sons, Dan Prentice of Panama City, FL, David (Debbie) Prentice of Montville, OH, Paul (Stella) Prentice of Williamsport, PA, James (Susie) Prentice of Rome, OH; 20 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren;
She is preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Gladys Heath of Willoughby, Ohio, husband Jack Prentice of Roaming Shores, Ohio and daughter Cheryl (Sheri) Schilling of Painesville, Ohio.
