Patricia D. (Bass) Criss

Patricia D. Criss (nee Bass), 77, of Middlefield, OH, gained her angel wings and went to be with her Lord and savior Wednesday evening, January 28th, 2026 at Geauga Hospital. Patricia was a resident at Ohman Family Living at Briar in Middlefield. She was born in Ravenna, OH on November 20th, 1948, to the late Louis E. and Mary E. (Bennett) Bass.

She loved reading her bible and also was a strong believer in the power of prayer. Patricia collected angel figurines over many years. Patricia was an exceptional caregiver and worked at several local nursing homes in Portage County throughout her life. Patricia also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and cherished her two cats, Angel and Lucky.

Patricia will be missed by: her adopted children, David and Amy; her family, Joyce Petersen (who was also her caregiver), Rosella Swonger, Sandy McKinnon, Tim Swonger, Ken Swonger; special friend, Jeanne Babb; and many friends.

She is preceded in death by: her parents; her love and companion of 40 years, Eugene “Butch” Swonger, who passed November 18th, 2024; and sister, Joyce Bass.

Per Patricia’s request, there will be no services held at this time.
