Monroe M. Detweiler, 83, of Mesopotamia Twp, OH passed away Friday evening, June 3rd, 2022 at his home. He was born in Chardon, OH on January 2nd, 1939 to the late Melvin R. and Sarah (Byler) Detweiler. Monroe later married Sally Miller on November 24th, 1960. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church and Bishop of the Windsor Church District.
He will be missed by: his wife of 61 years, Sally; children, Elizabeth (Robert) Miller, David (Katie Ann) Detweiler, Barbara (Leroy) Bender, Ada Marie (Ervin Jr.) Byler, Laura (Andy) Miller, Chester (Lydia) Detweiler, Sally (Steven) Troyer, Viola (Norman) Byler; daughter-in-law, Barbara Ann Detweiler; 77 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers; 1 sister; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents; son, Wayne Detweiler; 1 brother; and 2 sisters.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 9:30 A.M., MONDAY, JUNE 6TH, 2022 AT 9995 STATE ROUTE 534, MESOPOTAMIA, OH with Bishop William Eli Hostetler officiating. Pallbearers will be John Miller, Noah Miller, John Detweiler, and David U. Miller. Visitation will be anytime until the time of service. Monroe's final resting place will be in Wilcox Road Cemetery, Mesopotamia, OH.
