Michael Froelich

Michael Froelich, 48, of Chardon, Ohio died of natural causes on August 7, 2025. Michael was the beloved son of Martin and Katherine Kelly Singer and the late Henry (Skip) Froelich. Michael was the loving brother to Kelly Froelich McColgan (Michael), Howard Singer (Julie Garvey) and Mindi Singer Triezenberg (Bob) and Christina Froelich (Matthew Schnee). He was the loving uncle to Declan, Teague, Moira and Cormac McColgan, Allison, Jonathon and Danielle Orth and Lucas Schnee. He was very close to his aunts, uncles, cousins, and his “niblings”.

Mike was at home in restaurant kitchens including Joey’s Italian Grille in Chardon and was a long time employee of Chardon Custom Polymers. He enjoyed Cleveland sports and had a text chain with Kelly family members. Mike was counted on to bring the best and most unusual gifts and foods (durian fruit, really?!?) to family gatherings. He loved food and was an exceptional cook, but his eyes were always bigger than his stomach. Mike was a good man with a kind heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He would drop anything to spend time with family. He had a quick wit and did not suffer fools gladly; he also battled alcoholism throughout his life. 

A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, we suggest you buy an oddball gift or share a meal with others. Please tell your “Mike stories” to his grieving family and each other
