Melvin C. Miller, 83 years old, of Middlefield Twp, Ohio passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, January 8th, 2025 at his home while surrounded by his family. He was born in Middlefield, Ohio on January 29th, 1941 to the late Clarence M.V. and Nancy (Gingerich) Miller. Melvin later married his best friend and love of his life, Elizabeth (Yoder) February 27th, 1964. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
He will be missed by: his loving wife of 60 years, Elizabeth; children, Kathryn Byler, Sarah (Allen) Byler, Edna Miller, Samuel (Rachel Jean) Miller, Nancy (Ervin) Hershberger Jr., Emma (Robert) Troyer, Aaron (Linda) Miller; 44 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; siblings, Sarah Mast, Clarence (Anita) Miller Jr., Susan (John) Miller, Noah (Rebecca) Miller, Amos (Sarah) Miller; step-siblings, Katie (Abe) Raber, Rudy (Lydia) Helmuth, Martha (Daniel) Yoder, Freeman (Mary) Helmuth; sister-in-law, Rebecca Miller; step-sibling-in-laws, Mary Helmuth and Karen Helmuth; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Melvin is preceded in death by: his parents; son-in-law, Freeman Byler; 1 grandchild; 3 great-grandchildren; siblings, William Miller and his wife Liz, Alford Miller, Allen Miller; brother-in-law, Mahlon Mast; sister-in-law, Muriel Miller; step-siblings, Eli Helmuth and Harley Helmuth.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 9:00 AM, SATURDAY, JANUARY 11TH, 2025 AT 116141 NASH RD., MIDDLEFIELD, OH with Bishop John Leslein officiating. Pallbearers will be Nevin Byler, Allen Miller, Dan Byler, and Mahlon Byler. Visitation will be anytime until the morning of the service at 17870 Madison Rd., Middlefield. Melvin’s final resting place will be in Yoder Cemetery, Parkman, Ohio.
