Melvin A. Detweiler, 71, of Middlefield Twp, passed away peacefully at UH-Geauga Medical Center Thursday evening, November 5th, 2020. He was born in Chardon, OH on July 5th, 1949 to the late Andy R. and Martha Daisy (Yoder) Detweiler. Melvin later married Susanna Raber on September 26th, 1968. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
He will be greatly missed by: his loving wife of 52 years, Susanna; children, Erma (Crist) Yoder, Paul (Sadie) Detweiler, Robert (Kathy) Detweiler, Miriam (David) Yoder, Nathaniel Detweiler; 27 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers; 5 sisters; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Melvin is preceded in death by: his parents; son, Melvin M. Detweiler Jr.; 1 grandson; 2 brothers; and 1 sister.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 9:30 A.M., SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 8TH, 2020 AT 15889 NEWCOMB RD., MIDDLEFIELD, OH with Bishop Marvin M. Yoder officiating. Pallbearers will be Bill Yoder, Roy Burkholder, John Paul Gingerich, and David Yoder. Visitation will be anytime until the time of the service at 15902 Newcomb Rd., Middlefield. Melvin’s final resting place will be in Yoder Amish Cemetery, Parkman, OH.
