Mattie M. Detweiler (nee Miller), 88 years old, of Middlefield Twp, Ohio passed away peacefully Saturday morning, April 5th, 2025 at her home while surrounded by her family. She was born in Middlefield, Ohio on October 25th, 1936 to the late John M. and Lizzie J. (Miller) Miller. Mattie is once again reunited with her loving husband, Lester L. Detweiler Jr., who died May 11th, 2020. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
She will be missed by: her children, John (Mary) Detweiler, Betty (Reuben) Miller, Chester (Katie) Detweiler, Erma Mae (Ben) Weaver, Esther (Robert) Gingerich, Susan (Mark Alan) Miller, Lester (Marie Anne) Detweiler III, Marvin (Maurine) Detweiler; 63 grandchildren; 136 great-grandchildren; 8 brothers; 5 sisters; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mattie is preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Lester; daughter, Katie Mae Detweiler; 1 grandchild; 1 great-grandchild; son-in-laws, Marvin N. Troyer and Noah J. Miller; 1 brother; 1 sister; and 2 brother-in-laws.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 9:00 AM, TUESDAY, APRIL 8TH, 2025 AT 16790 PETERS RD., MIDDLEFIELD, OH with Bishop Andy J. Miller officiating. Pallbearers will be Nevin Byler, Roman Yoder, Andrew Detweiler, and Albert Byler. Visitation will be anytime until the morning of the service. Mattie’s final resting place will be in Miller Cemetery, Huntsburg, Ohio.
