Mary Ellen Byrne Obituary

Mary Ellen Byrne (nee Bansanisi), 89, of Middlefield, OH, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, May 11th, 2022 at Burton Healthcare. She was born in Boston, MA on December 7th, 1932 to the late Harry and Ivy (Gregg) Bansanisi.

She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in elementary education and taught many years for the James A. Garfield School District in Garrettsville until retirement. Mary then moved to Las Vegas, NV where she taught another 18 years before retiring a second time.

Mary Ellen will be greatly missed by: her children, Diane Currence, Bridget Byrne, Alan (Brandy Williams) Byrne, Becky Byrne; grandchildren, Quinton (Kathryn) Byrne, Courtney (Steve) Swope, Stephanie Byrne, Jason Currence, Katherine Currence, Denise Currence; sister, Betty Wash; and many friends.

Mary Ellen is preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law, Frank Currence.
