Marilynn Hoffman (nee Morton), 99, of Garrettsville, OH, passed away peacefully Friday morning, April 10th, 2026, at Ohman Family Living at Briar in Middlefield, Ohio. She was born in Kalamazoo, MI on April 25th, 1926, to the late Montell and Josephine (Gardner) Morton. Marilynn is once again reunited with her loving husband, Kenneth D. Hoffman, who died in 1980.
Marilynn dearly loved to fish, tell jokes, play cards (especially poker), read novels, play puzzles and word games, play many games on her iPad, knit, dance, listen to classical music, grow houseplants, and paint. She taught one-room school, sold everything from Avon to oil rights, was sales manager for an Elkhart hotel, and finally retired (somewhat unwillingly) at 86. More than anything she loved people, was a good listener, and enjoyed any excuse to celebrate life with family and friends.
Marilynn will be greatly missed by: her daughter, Laurie (Gordon) Fischer, Pamela (Mike) Hoffman, Monty (Lucy) Hoffman; granddaughters, Natalie, Leslie, Dagny Hanner, Morgan Hanner-Morfesis; great-grandchildren, Maya, Rowan, Gemma, Demetrius, Zoe; great-niece Shelly (Ken) Labardee, and many other nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by: her parents and two sisters; son Mike; and granddaughter Heather.
Per Marilynn’s request, no services are to be held at this time.
