Margaret A. (Gable) Smith

Margaret A. Smith (nee Gable), 86, of Hiram, OH, passed away peacefully Friday morning, May 8th, 2026, at Inn at the Pines Assisted Living. She was born in Cleveland, OH on March 30th, 1940, to the late John G. and Margaret (Churma) Gable. Margaret is once again reunited with her loving husband, Robert Smith, who died March 23rd, 2000.  

Margaret loved Jesus and never missed the opportunity to talk to anyone about Him. She had a great affection for dogs of all kinds. She often stopped to talk to someone in the neighborhood walking one to pet and learn their name. She greatly missed her Arthur every day.   

Margaret will be greatly missed by her brother Joseph Gable (Fina); her sister in law, Gayle Gable; nieces and nephews: Victoria Gable, Kathlyn Koscelnik (Matt), Mary Stecher (Matt), Gabriella Darr (Ryan), John Gable, Daniella Gable, and Jason Dorcik (Renee); Great nieces and nephews: Nicole and Jeremy Koscelnik, David and Morgan Martin, and Kesia, Keilah, Ezra, and Jeremiah Darr.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, brother John Gable, and sister Elizabeth Dorcik.

Per Margaret’s wishes, no services are to be held at this time.
