Lola Ann (Ditmer) Smith

Lola Ann (Ditmer) Smith, 74, of Orwell, OH, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, January 28th, 2026, at Geauga Hospital surrounded by family and her loved ones. She was born in Geauga County, OH on February 26th, 1951, to the late Robert and Loretta (Sailor) Ditmer.                                                                                         

Lola was a strong independent lady that took care of her family. She loved listening to The Bee Gees and dancing. She had a gift for decorating a room. She enjoyed driving the Amish and making new friends. Family meant everything to her. She loved shopping and going to dinner with her sister and sister-n-law and hanging out with her brothers and getting her point of view across. (They loved that the most) Lola was happiest when spending time at her daughter’s house. Her greatest joy was time well spent watching her grandchildren grow up and spoiling them.

Lola you were a blessing and you will never be forgotten by her loving daughter, Julie (Bob) Durey; sister Darlene (Bob) Carroll; brothers Bill Ditmer, John Ditmer and Charlie Ditmer; grandchildren, Tina Durey, Trista (Patrick) Durey and Bobby Durey; nieces, Shirley (John) Toth, Denette Ditmer, Priscilla (Danny) Mulanax, Jessie-Mae Ditmer, Cheyaine Ditmer; great-nephew, Zach Toth; and many friends.

She is preceded in death by: her parents and her brother Robert “Burt” (Janet) Ditmer; nephew’s Charles John Ditmer and Johnny Lee Ditmer.

A CELEBRATION OF LIFE WILL BE HELD AT 7 PM, WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 11TH 2026 AT BEST FUNERAL HOME, 15809 MADISON RD., MIDDLEFIELD, OH 44062. Family and friends will be received from 5 PM until the time of the service.
