Karen L. Hall

Karen Lorrane Hall, 86, of Cortland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 8th, 2025, at St. Joseph Hospital in Warren. She was born on August 28th, 1938 in Champion, Ohio, Karenwas the youngest of 12 children in the Williams family, consisting of eight sisters and four brothers. She often shared fond memories of her childhood in Warren, Ohio, especially the joy of growing up surrounded by so many loving siblings.

Karen spent her entire life in Northeast Ohio, where she built a home filled with love, laughter, and good food. She cherished family reunions and gatherings with her brothers and sisters, where card games and lively conversation were always apart of the fun. She loved cooking, camping, and sitting around a campfire telling stories and was always ready to help the crowd make s'mores.

A devoted mother to her four children, Karen was also a dedicated caregiver, serving many years as an assistant nurse in Newbury, providing compassionate care to the elderly. Karen will be remembered for her daringness and humor, she delighted intelling stories and hearing jokes, she shared many laughs with
her friends and neighbors, often engaging in good-natured practical jokes.

Karen was married to the late Richard F.Hall for 35 years until his passing in November 1993. She also shared a close and special friendship for 17 years with her late friend, Jim Wilcox until his passing in 2012.

She is survived by: her children, Carolyn (Bill) Haar, Bryan (Patty) Hall, Todd (Lisa) Hall, and Kenny (Megan Mines-Hall) Hall; 11grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Darlene Bean.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard; her dear friend, Jim; and her ten other siblings.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, August 15th, 2025 at Best Funeral Home, 15809 Madison Rd., Middlefeld, Ohio with Joyce Benesh officiating. Family and friends will be received from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Karen will be laid to rest beside her husband, Richard, at Shadyside Cemetery in Auburn Twp, Ohio. 

Services are open to all friends, family, and those whose lives were touched by Karen.
