Julia Fay (Furtaw) Johnson

Julia F. Johnson (nee Furtaw), 64, of Painesville, OH, passed away unexpectedly Monday evening, June 16th, 2025 at UH-TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Twp, OH. She was born in Bay City, MI on October 31st, 1960 to the late John and Frances (Whitehead) Furtaw. Julia is once again reunited with her loving husband, Thomas Johnson, who died February 22nd, 2020.

She always enjoyed the time she spent at the American Legion where she felt at home. Julia cherished the fellowship she found there along with so many fun memories, including parties, fundraisers, and her wedding to Tom. 

Julia loved spending holidays with her brother, Virgil and his family, where she always had a place set at the table. She also liked telling the story of how she ended up with her kitty, Mittens, and the love and comfort she provided.

She also cherished her friendship with Della Lansberry, who she met in the second grade and remained best friends until the day she left this earth. 

Julia will be greatly missed by: her sons, Allen Heise, Steven Heise, John Heise; grandchildren, Laurel Steven Michael, Laila Marie; great-grandchild, Cannon; brother, Virgil (Regina) Furtaw; sister, Patricia (Antonio) Carlucci; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Thomas; infant daughter, Tonya Heise; brothers, William Stokes, David Furtaw; and sisters, Mae Geistle, and Lynn Clifton.

A CELEBRATION OF LIFE WILL BE HELD FROM 12PM - 2PM, SATURDAY, JUNE 28TH, 2025 AT AMERICAN LEGION POST #336, 60 CHESTER ST., PAINESVILLE, OH 44077.
