Joseph “Joe” C. Brcak III, 93, of Montville, passed away peacefully at his home early Saturday morning, March 16th, 2019. He was born in Thompson, OH on November 30th, 1925 to the late Joseph and Rose (Divoky) Brcak Jr.. Joe is once again reunited with his loving wife, Carol (Trask) Brcak, who died July 21th, 2017. He was a lifelong resident of Geauga County.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on February 14th, 1944 and was stationed in New Guinea for two and a half years during World War II. Following his service, Joe returned home and married Carol Trask on December 17th, 1949 in Greenup, KY.
Joe retired as a Foreman after working at Nelson Tree Service for 37 years. He enjoyed spending the winter months in Eustis, FL as well as gardening, swimming, dancing, playing cards, and going to flea markets and casinos.
He was also an active member of AMVETS Post #1992 in Mt. Dora, FL and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6519 in Chardon, OH.
Joe will be dearly missed by: his daughter, Tamara Brcak of Mentor, OH; son, Barry A. (Kendra) Brcak of Montville, OH; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by: his loving wife of 67 years, Carol; parents; sister, Dorothy Brcak; and brother, Paul Brcak.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 12:30 P.M., SATURDAY, MARCH 23RD, 2019 AT BEST FUNERAL HOME, 15809 MADISON RD., MIDDLEFIELD, OH with Deacon Bob Schwartz of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Thompson, OH officiating. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, March 23rd, 2019 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Joe will be laid to rest in Chardon City Cemetery at 10:30 A.M., on Monday, March 25th.
