John Mark Rokosky Jr., 69, of Concord (formerly of Thompson, OH) passed away peacefully at UH-Cleveland Medical Center, Tuesday afternoon, June 16th, 2020. He was born in Dubois, PA on July 16th, 1950 to the late John M. and Mary Louise (Cheravitch) Rokosky Sr. John later married Jo Ann Bailey on May 1st, 1970.
He loved the Lord and spent many years helping at his church and being a prayer warrior. John enjoyed working on anything mechanical, especially riding his zero-turn mower and racing stock cars at the Painesville and Clover Leaf Speedways.
John liked collecting items like snoopy and matchbox cars as well as raising his German Shepherds and Pigs. He was also a very proud PaPa while watching his grandsons in sporting events.
He will be dearly missed by: his loving wife of 50 years, Jo Ann; son, John M (Robin) Rokosky III; grandsons, John M. Rokosky IV, Joseph Rokosky; sister, Geraldine Bulfinch; lifelong friend, Jesse Swihart; and many cousins and friends.
John is preceded in death by his parents.
A GRAVESIDE SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 11:00 A.M., MONDAY, JUNE 22ND, 2020 AT MAPLE GROVE CEMETERY, 16337 THOMPSON RD., THOMPSON, OH 44086 with Pastor Carrie Garland of the Painesville Assembly of God Church officiating. Friends and family will be received from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M., Sunday, June 21st, 2020 at Best Funeral Home, 15809 Madison Rd., Middlefield, OH 44062. 440-632-0818. In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to assist the family in John’s final expenses.
