Joe J. "Yogi" Byler Jr.

Joe J. “Yogi” Byler Jr., 69, of Middlefield Twp, OH, passed away peacefully Friday morning, August 28th, 2026, at home while surrounded by his family. He was born in Burton, OH on July 14th, 1957, to the late Joe J. and Cora (Miller) Byler Sr.   

Yogi saw the good in anyone he met and loved everyone. His pride and joy were his grandkids and did everything he could for them. He was a loving husband and the best dad. We will all miss him very much. One thing none of us will ever forget about him is that laugh.

Joe will be greatly missed by: his loving companion and wife of 47 years, Vonda (Trask) Byler; children, Josh Byler, Sally Schamberg, Trisha (Clint Fisher) Byler; grandchildren, Laney Schamberg, Gwen Schamberg, Ava Gough, Mason Fisher, Logan Fisher; brother, Mahlon (Mary) Byler; sisters, Saloma Miller; Mary Ann (Dan) Miller, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

He is preceded in death by: his parents; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters. 

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 12PM, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1ST, 2026 AT BEST FUNERAL HOME, 15809 MADISON RD., MIDDLEFIELD, OH 44062. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 4-8PM and on Tuesday from 10AM until the time of the service. Joe’s final resting place will be in Middlefield Cemetery, Middlefield, OH.
