Janet Delores (Jones) Crabtree, 89, of Burton, OH, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026. Janet was born on December 3,1936, to the late Asa and Lula Margaret Williams Jones.
Janet was a 1955 graduate of Cadiz High School. On May 28, 1955 she married her true love, Harley S. Crabtree. She was a member of the Burton Congregational Church for 55 years. Janet was a homemaker and sold Avon and real estate. Also, she was a talented seamstress and crocheter. She loved to host garage sales and enjoyed roaming flea markets whenever she could. In addition to traveling for the winter, Janet’s favorite thing was spending time with her family. She loved hosting family gatherings and was always at work in the kitchen preparing the best meals. It is hard to put into words what Janet meant to her family, but they intend to make sure her legacy lives on through each of them. She was a special person who made sure everyone was included and never forgotten. She will be remembered for being able to make a friend in any room she was in, and for always being there for those she loved.
Janet is survived by her daughters, Judy (Dale) Nabozny and Sue Dubyné; her siblings, John C. Jones and Tom D. Jones; her son-in-law, Ken Gingerich; her sister-in-law, Glenda Crabtree; her grandchildren, Brian Nabozny, Erika Borden, Michele (Oscar) Chavez, Christine (Jeff) Lyons, Jason (Jennifer) Gingerich, Mitchel (Paige) Gingerich, Lauren (Michael) Passinger, and Nicole (Alex) Johnson; many great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Janet is preceded in death by her daughter, Jacklyn L. Gingerich; her sister and brother-in-law, Loruma and David Brokaw; her brother, James B. Jones, her brother and sister-in-law Edmond and Shirley Crabtree; sister-in-law, Pauline Jones; son-in-law, Philip P. Dubyné, as well as mother and father-in-law, John and Hazel Crabtree.
