Janet (MacMahon) Carll

Janet MacMahon Carll, 94, of Aurora and formerly of Moreland Hills, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles L. Carll; mother of Cynthia (Jim) Thie and Christie (Mark) Adelman; grandmother of Lauren (Ryan Scammell) and Michael; and daughter of the late Alexander “Mac” and Marion MacMahon.

An alumna of Laurel High School and Denison University, Janet translated her deep affection for animals into a 30-year career as a dog groomer. An intrepid traveler and birder, she trekked through Nepal, Tanzania, Morocco, and the Galapagos in pursuit of the natural world.

Janet’s commitment to service was vast, including roles with Dance Cleveland, Fieldstone Farm Therapeutic Riding Center, Valley Save-A-Pet, and the Lander Circle Kiwanis. Her life was defined by her determination, adventurous spirit, and participation in her community.
