Heather Anne Palmlund, 51, of Chagrin Falls, OH passed away unexpectedly at her home Wednesday, March 10, 2021. She was born in Ridgewood, NJ, on November 21, 1969, to David W. Palmlund and Kathleen Loring Sumner.
Strong, lively and a force of nature, Heather was a prize-winning equestrienne in dressage, and jumper. As a girl in Southlake, TX, her bedroom walls were covered with ribbons from competitions. Heather graduated from Southlake Carroll High School in 1987 and earned a Bachelors Degree in Radio, Television and Film from the University of Texas in Austin.
Independent and fearless, Heather traveled the world, working in production in Hollywood, crewing on an Alaskan fishing boat, living in the foothills of the Himalayas in India and vacationing in Mexico. Back in the states, she had a change of career, returning to college and earned a nursing degree from Edinboro University in Edinboro, PA. A dedicated and caring Registered Nurse, she worked at the world famous Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.
Heather was preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen Loring Sumner. She is survived by her father, David Palmlund of Dallas, TX, her brother David Channing Palmlund and his wife Catherine and their sons Charlie and Sam of North Yarmouth, ME.
An avid reader and barn builder, she loved nature and all creatures great and small, especially her horses, dogs and pet snake Nicodemus. Kind-hearted and witty, Heather had an incredible ability to tell it like it is and leave you laughing. She was an original, a luminous spirit who believed in living and loving deeply. She will be greatly missed by all of us who knew and loved her.
Per Heather’s wishes, no services will be held at this time.
