Harvey D. McGurer, 71, of Garrettsville, OH, returned to his heavenly home Thursday morning, July 8th, 2021 at University Hospital in Cleveland, OH. He was born in Chardon, OH on August 10th, 1949 and later married his lifetime love and soulmate, Diana Queen on March 26, 1970.
He was an active member of the Faith Evangelical Free Church in Garrettsville. Harvey was a man of strong faith and lived with the belief that once his time on earth was finished he would be welcomed by his creator.
Harvey, described by many as a gentle giant, was a loyal friend, a kind soul and a great man. He loved all things cars, many decades of music and had quick and witty sense of humor.
Harvey, known affectionately as Junior, Juni-Pops, Papa and Popsie, was a dedicated family man that was happiest when he was surrounded by those he loved.
He was hard working all of his life, from his early days at Junction Auto to spending many of his working years at Newbury Industries to finally retiring from MK Enterprises in 2011.
Harvey will be dearly missed by: his loving wife of 51 years, Diana; parents Joanne (Carlson) and Harvey E. McGurer; son, John Harvey McGurer (Jaclyn Laubert) of Aurora; Kimberly (James) Martin of Ashland, OH, April (Christopher) White of Aurora, OH; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Loyd, Samantha Loyd, Jordan McGurer, Carter White; brother, Christopher (Jocelyn) McGurer of Garrettsville; sisters, Claudia Cassidy of Middlefield, Cynthia (Michael) Young of Middlefield; sisters-in-law Sandra Laughlin of Garrettsville, Tracey Bradley of Burton; brother-in-law Gary Queen of Southington, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Harvey is preceded in death by his brother James (Jimi) McGurer.
