Grace D. “Trudi” Hickox, 77, of Middlefield, OH passed away peacefully at UH-Geauga Medical Center, Tuesday evening, December 18th, 2018 after a short illness. Her daughter and son were at her side. Trudi was born in Punxsutawney, PA on April 3rd, 1941 and moved to Ohio in 1951. She is now reunited with her loving husband, Robert E. Hickox, who died February 25th, 2003.
After raising her children, she earned a Master’s Degree from Kent State University and taught Family and Consumer Sciences at Cardinal Local Schools until her retirement. She delighted in researching her family history on her computer as well as making yearly trips to Pennsylvania cemeteries searching for her ancestors. Trudi’s passions in life were reading, cooking, gardening, scrapbooking, eating chocolate, drinking coffee, and enjoying all of nature by taking walks on her farm.
Survivors include: children, Heather (Karl) Kochy of Huntsburg, William “Bill” (Sherry) Hickox of West Farmington; grandchildren, Thomas, Hunter, JohnRobert, Alaina, Hope and Robert; siblings, Robbyn Minnick, Mary (Scott) Stiegemeier, Pamela Uchrinscko, (Stephen Bruynell), and Timothy (Lisa) Minnick.
Trudi is preceded in death by: her parents, Darrell Dane and Dora Louise (Mitchell) Minnick; husband, Robert; and siblings, Darrell Jr., William, and Karen.
A CELEBRATION OF LIFE WILL BE HELD AT 5 P.M., FRIDAY, DECEMBER 21ST, 2018 AT THE PARKMAN CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH, 18265 MADISON RD., PARKMAN, OH 44080. Friends and family will be received from 3 P.M. until the time of service at the Church. A Memorial Dinner will also follow the service.

Grace’s number one love in life was spending time with her grandchildren. She was often heard saying “My grandkids are my life.”
