Gloria Jean Leagan (nee Wagner), 81, of Chesterland, OH passed away peacefully Monday morning, November 15th, 2021 at Ohman Family Living at Holly Hill. She was born in Mount Carmel, PA on September 16th, 1940 to the late Milton E. and Emma (Tresfgar) Wagner. Gloria is together once again with her loving husband of 56 years, Walter W. Leagan, who died November 20th, 2017.
She was a U.S. Army Veteran who worked as a shipping clerk at LFE. Gloria enjoyed gardening, crafts, puzzles, playing cards, and visiting the senior center. She also co-authored a book called “To Munson With Love”. Gloria loved spending time with her family and was even Miss April in the 2009 Geauga Senior Center Calendar.
Gloria will be deeply missed by; her children, Emma Ann “Em” (Chris Brockway) Meyer, Jeannette Ann Wilmot, Frank Leagan, Erna (Howard Mabel) Leagan-Mabel; 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, John Wagner, Milton Wagner; and many friends.
She is preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Walter; sons, Walter Leagan Jr. and James Leagan; grandsons, Michael and Mark Leagan; and niece, Gloria Jean Deck.
A FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 10:00 A.M., SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 20TH, 2021 at ST. MARK LUTHERAN CHURCH, 11900 CHILLICOTHE RD, CHESTERLAND, OH 44026 with Pastor Mark Matzke officiating. Interment will follow in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chesterland. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gloria’s memory are requested to be made to: the Geauga County Veterans Food Bank, Hospice of the Western Reserve, or St. Mark Lutheran Church.
