Gladys H. (McBride) Komandt

Gladys H. Komandt (nee McBride), 78, of West Farmington, OH, passed away peacefully Monday morning, July 27th, 2026, at home while surrounded by her family. She was born in Painesville, OH on November 20th, 1947, to the late Dorsey and Georgia Mae (O’Neal) McBride. Gladys later married her best friend and love of her life, Roger Komandt on May 29th, 1967. Gladys loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and enjoyed reading her bible and was a devoted mother to Michelle and Roger Jr.

Gladys will be greatly missed by: her loving husband of 59 years, Roger; daughter, Michelle (Robert) Wicks; son, Roger (Cherie) Komandt Jr., grandchildren, Brandon (Alyssa) Wicks, Niles Wicks, Elijah Wicks, Alyssa Wicks; Julianna (Richard) Sullivan, Breanna Komandt, Brandon Vining; great-grandchildren, Jensen Wicks, Lincoln, Lennox, and Lochlan Sullivan, Kaison Long; brother, Frank (Jean) McBride; sister, Joan Carpenter; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She is preceded in death by: her parents; siblings, Bob McBride, Wayne McBride, Shirley Elco, Sharon Gingerich, and Evelyn Tonkery.

Family and Friends will be received from 4-8 PM, Thursday, July 30th, 2026 at Best Funeral Home, 15809 Madison Rd., Middlefield, OH 44062. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 11 AM, FRIDAY, JULY 31st with Joyce Benesh officiating. Glady’s final resting place will be held in Park Cemetery, Garrettsville, OH.
