Gary J. Franklin Sr.

Gary J. Franklin Sr., 75, of Roaming Shores, OH, passed away Friday morning, December 2nd, 2022 at his home. He was born in Cleveland, OH on July 5th, 1947 to the late Thomas and Nancy (Longstreth) Franklin-Reiter. Gary is once again reunited with his loving wife of 56 years, Pearl, who died August 22nd, 2022.  

Gary was a self-employed accountant in Orwell, Ohio for 48 years. He was an avid bass fisherman for many years. He enjoyed going to the casino, watching OSU and Browns football, driving his boat (while listening to his specific play list), and meeting family and friends for dinners. Gary had a wonderful sense of humor. He was the life of the party, even though he would never admit it. Papa was a teddy bear, who always gave his grandchildren the best hugs. He missed his wife terribly. The family is finding comfort in knowing that mom and dad are together again. 

Gary will be greatly missed by: his; children, Dawn Franklin, Gary (Megan) Franklin Jr., Summer (Todd) Brainard, Ryan (Arin) Franklin; grandchildren, Morgan, Riley, Jocelyn, Emma, Kennedy, Harper, River, Connor, Skylar; brothers, Charles Jacobs, Al (Rose) Jacobs; sisters, Carol Borges and Kathleen Eyman; sister-in-law, Audrey Jacobs; and many friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Pearl; brother, Lee Jacobs; and sister-in-law, Barbara Jacobs.

A CELEBRATION OF LIFE WILL BE HELD FROM 4:00-7:00 P.M., SATURDAY, DECEMBER 10th, 2022 AT THE ROAMING SHORES CLUBHOUSE,  13 ROAMING ROCK BLVD, ROAMING SHORES, OH 44085. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, contributions in Gary’s memory are requested to be made to the American Heart Association, http://www.heart.org.
