Gabriel Felicien Lefebvre, known affectionately as Gabe, passed away on August 18, 2024, in Twinsburg, Ohio. Born on February 29, 1932, in the Bronx, New York City, NY, Gabe led a full and distinguished life.
Gabe proudly served in the US Navy from 1952 to 1956 during active duty and continued his service in the reserves until 1965, achieving the rank of Lieutenant. His dedication to his country was evident in his commitment and leadership during his military career.
Professionally, Gabe had a remarkable career that began at Union Carbide, followed by his work as an independent consulting engineer. He later joined B. F. Goodrich Chemical Company, where he eventually promoted to the position of Vice-President of Chemical Manufacturing before his retirement. His expertise and leadership were instrumental in driving the success of the organizations he was part of.
Gabe was a devoted member of Christ Episcopal Church in Hudson, OH. He was a member of the vestry for many years and was instrumental in several improvements to the church physical facilities.
Gabe and Doris lived in Paducah, KY for many years. Gabe's activities there lead to his being designated a "Duke of Paducah" and a "Kentucky Colonel".
Gabe and Doris also lived in Walden, OH for many years where he served as President of Walden Home Owner's Association, President of the High Point Home Owner's Association, and as a member of the Walden Architectural Committee.
He is survived by Doris Jeanette Lefebvre, his loving wife of almost 72 years; his children - David Lefebvre, Rick Lefebvre, and Kathy Nagelski; his grandchildren - Tim Lefebvre, Laura Johnson, Leslie Mendez, Jon Lefebvre, Mark Lefebvre, Denim Nagelski, Sean Nagelski; and his great-grandchildren - Ephraim Lefebvre, Hannah Johnson, Travis Mendez Jr, Penny Sue Lefebvre, Addison Mendez, Maggie Lefebvre, Gabriel Lefebvre, Maddie Lefebvre, Corbin Mendez, Ozzy Mendez, Henry Nagelski, and Theo Nagleski.
Gabe was an Eagle Boy Scout. He ensured his two sons also became Eagle Scouts by being Scoutmaster of Boy Scout #1 in Paducah, KY.
Gabe's legacy is carried on by those who knew him and were influenced by his dedication to service, both in his professional and personal life. He will be remembered for his leadership, kindness, and commitment to his faith and community.
