Frieda (Griesheimer) Ward

Frieda Ward (nee Griesheimer), 94, of Parkman, OH passed away peacefully at Burton Healthcare Residence, Friday morning, June 19th, 2020. She was born in Germany on August 13th, 1925 to the late Karl and Berta (Schafer) Griesheimer. Frieda is once again reunited with her loving husband, Keith A. Ward, who died April 1st, 2005.

She came to the United States shortly after WWII and eventually settled in Northeast Ohio.

Frieda will always be remembered as a wonderful mother who treated everyone with compassion, respect, and kindness. She also always held a positive outlook on life and encouraged her friends and family to find the good in every situation. This was a trait she graciously passed on to her children.

One of Frieda’s favorite things to do was to cook a homemade German dinner for her family and friends. She also loved tending to her gardens and flowers.  

Frieda will be greatly missed by: her children, Carl Ward, Keith Ward, Ken (Carol) Ward, Linda Ward; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; siblings, Edith, Marika, Detlef, Ute; and many friends.

She is preceded in death by: her parents, Karl and Berta; husband, Keith; and 9 siblings.

Per Frieda’s wishes, instead of having a service, remember her by finding at least one positive thing in your life each day.
