Emma “Corky” Rosborough, 100, of Concord, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Wednesday evening, January 22nd, 2025 at UH-TriPoint Medical Center. She was born in Wichita, KS on December 9th, 1924 to the late William W. and Elizabeth B. (Somers) Sinkhorn. Corky married Kenneth “Jack” Rosborough on November 19, 1954 and is once again reunited with her loving husband of 70 years, who died October 13th, 2015. She had one sister, Elizabeth Nichols (deceased).
Corky lived an incredible one hundred years and got to experience many adventures. Growing up in the prime of the Great Depression, she obtained her GED and went on to earn her associates degree. She worked as a Secretary at Boeing and retired from Finast as the bakery manager in 1995. Her and Jack built their family farm in 1974 and were active members of their children’s 4H clubs, attending horse shows all over the country. Corky loved to travel and visited Europe, Mexico, Canada and multiple US states. She loved the yearly trips to Fern Resort in Canada with her grandchildren. Jack and Corky were active members and on the board for many years at the Leroy VFW. They loved wing nights at Capp’s Tavern and met many lifelong friends there. They truly loved being a part of the Leroy community. Corky always had a soft spot for animals and would let her kids bring home any that did not have a home. Corky also loved her Bud Light, which she said was her secret ingredient to living 100 years. More than anything, Corky cherished the time spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. It brought her pure joy seeing each one and spending time with them.
Emma will be missed by: her children, Judy (Jerry) Hahn, Patricia (Dale) Redding, Janice Koston, Mark (Lynne) Rosborough, Lori Stevenson, Michael (Laura) Rosborough; grandchildren, Gwen (Mark), Doug(Missy), Warren, Scott, Wendy(Randy), Bobby (Kelly), Caitlin, Evan, Brandon "Bubba"; 18 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her fur companions, Tucker and Poppy.
She is preceded in death by: her parents and her husband Jack.
Corky’s family would like to thank Leroy and Concord Fire Departments, Lake County sheriffs, Nye and Miller, and the staff at the Tripoint ER the evening of her passing, for their care and compassion they showed to her and the family.
Per Emma’s wishes, a private scattering of her ashes will be done at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations in Emma's memory are requested to be sent to Community Cats c/o Cindy Valerio, 225 E266th St. Euclid, OH 44132. or https://lakecountycommunitycats.org/donate.
