Eli J. Byler, 76 years old, of Middlefield Twp, Ohio passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, July 27th, 2025 at home while surrounded by his family. He was born in Huntsburg, Ohio on February 14th, 1949 to the late Jake J. and Katie (Detweiler) Byler. Eli later married his best friend and love of his life, Nancy (Miller) Byler, on September 18th, 1980. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church and a Minister of the Huntsburg Southeast District.
He will be missed by: his loving wife of 44 years, Nancy; children, Laura (John) Detweiler, Albert (Amanda) Byler, Mary (Andrew) Detweiler, Roy (Barbara) Byler, Dorothy (Abner Jr.) Hershberger, Esther (Marvin) Mast, Ada (Daniel Jr.) Mast, Paul (Miriam) Byler, Kathryn (Daniel) Miller; 36 grandchildren; 4 brothers; 3 sisters; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Eli is preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 9:00 AM, WEDNESDAY, JULY 30TH, 2025 AT 17434 PETERS RD., MIDDLEFIELD, OH with Bishop Andy Miller officiating. Pallbearers will be Roman Yoder, Steven Hershberger, Marvin Miller, and Sam E. Yoder. Visitation will be anytime until the morning of the service. Eli’s final resting place will be in Nauvoo Road Cemetery, Middlefield Twp, Ohio.
