Ed Woodin-Merriman Obituary

Ed was a "special" kind of Cattle dog...The kind you never forget! Over the course of his 15 years he acquired a huge following. And because of God’s grace, we all got to love him.

Ed was born somewhere in Utah. His original owner Ryan Potter surrendered him to Nuzzles & Co. also in Utah. While Ed was there he was handled by a dog trainer named Roger Miller. I was told he had somewhat of a lengthy stay at Nuzzles & Co. My friend Randy Gatliff spotted Ed on their website and I immediately started making plans to adopt Ed and have him flown to Ohio.

Once arriving in Ohio, it was evident that Ed had horrible aggression issues. So I turned to Murphy Bernard (Barb) a dog trainer for help. Ed successfully completed Level 2 obedience! Now I had an obedient aggressive dog! After a year of being bitten and attacked by Ed, it looked like euthanasia was becoming his only option.

In one last effort I turned to Dr. Barbara Hippie and pleaded my case to put Ed on Prozac. I said if people can have chemical inbalances then why can't dogs? Who would of guessed it was that little pill that saved Ed's life! It totally changed his demeanor.

Ed became cuddly and loving. He was loyal. He was the BEST FRIEND that any girl could ask for. He was happy. You could see it in his eyes. He loved life! He loved to play ball. He loved stuffy toys. He enjoys walks around the pond. Ed taught me so much about life that I didn't even realize I was learning. Most of all he taught me patience and to never give up!

I want to Thank Dr. Kline and all the staff at Graham Road Animal Hospital for always being there for Ed over the past 11 years.

Without Ed's HUGE circle friends and their support. I would not have been able to share this AMAZING journey! Ed is survived by "Me" his voice and BEST FRIEND, Vikki Woodin...Lanny Merriman, Dominick Woodin, (dog friends) Tank, Abbey, Nike, Lola, (cat friends) Gregory and Max.
