Earl Ray Carpenter

Earl Ray Carpenter, 78, of Middlefield Twp, peacefully passed away Wednesday morning, January 22nd, 2020 at the David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland. He was born in Warren, OH on September 5th, 1941 to the late Yale T. and Glenna P. (Barb) Carpenter. Earl later married Joan (McBride) Karey in 1984.

He was a 1959 graduate of Bloomfield High School and eventually served as a member of the Bloomfield School Board and the Bloomfield Zoning Board.

Earl was also very active in Trumbull County, serving as a 4-H advisor in the dairy program, Director of the Trumbull County Fair Board, and as a member of the Trumbull County Holstein Association. He was also a previous owner of Bloomfield Livestock Auction.

He loved working as a dairy and grain farmer, especially doing custom combine work for local farms. Earl simply loved being in the fields. He also liked being a long-haul truck driver for Dillen Products in Middlefield and Arms Trucking in East Claridon.

When not on the road or in the fields, Earl loved spending time with his family and watching John Wayne movies.

Earl was a member and Master Mason of Western Reserve #307 F.&A.M. in West Farmington and also a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason in the Valley of Youngstown, A.A.S.R.M.

He will be greatly missed by: his loving wife of 35 years, Joan; children, Stan (Denise) Karey, Teri (Paul) Sines, Crystal (Jeff) Karey-Neikirk, Kristina (Matt Weaver) Reider, Angela (Kurt) Kriynovich, Amy Jo Carpenter, Janice Williams; grandchildren, Alexys Fenselon, Alayna Sines, Rylee Fenselon, Kody Kriynovich, Kamden Kriynovich; sister, JaNice Carpenter-McCoy; sister-in-law, Mary Mae Carpenter; and many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and friends.

Earl is preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Harold Carpenter; and brother-in-law, French T. McCoy.

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 11:00 A.M., MONDAY, JANUARY 27TH, 2020 AT BEST FUNERAL HOME, 15809 MADISON RD., MIDDLEFIELD with Pastor Paul Radobenko officiating. Family and friends will be received from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M., Sunday, January 26th at the funeral home and also on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
